When I moved from W7 to W10, I also ended up with Word 2016, which is fine. I didn't expect even Microsoft to be able to carry all of my fonts from Word 2013, Word 1892 or whatever version I was using. No problem; I have the font (Ashby Book) but I couldn't find out how to install it. The Word internal Help system took me to a malware website (what's that about?) and every time I entered 'Word 2016' in Bing, it gave me lots of results for 'Word 2013.'
I realize that Brazil is just a movie but it's becoming all too real. Does anyone know how to install standard, compatible fonts in Word 2016? (And for extra credit): Why is this so complicated?
Many thanks for your kind response. As sometimes happens, the first shot didn't hit the target but it did focus the shooter. I pasted the fonts into the C: Windows Fonts folder but Word still didn't 'find' them. I then tried Right-Click-Install and didn't get an Install option, but I did get the option to open the Font Viewer, which then did give me an Install option. I did this with each variation of the fonts (bold, italic, etc.) and now Word 'sees' them all.
I haven't tried using this font (the 'official,' logo-derived font for our company) in other programs yet but I feel confident it will work. The most-important thing is that you gave me a place to start.
